Nineteen of Daniil Medvedev's twenty-one titles have been achieved on hard surfaces

A comeback Daniil Medvedev claimed his initial trophy for nearly 30 months with a win over Frenchman Moutet in the Almaty Open final.

The athlete, a ex- number one, has experienced a difficult period, managing just one match at the Grand Slams and undergoing a difficult moment at the American major.

His unpredictability on the tennis tour - and difficulties with his serving in especial - resulted in him falling of the top ten and ultimately splitting with former trainer Cervara.

Presently training with Thomas Johansson and Rohan Goetzke, the tennis star has steadily improved in the recent weeks - peaking in a tightly fought 7-5 4-6 6-3 triumph over challenger Corentin Moutet.

This represents his maiden trophy since the Rome competition and first on a hard surface from March of 2023.

The win also means the Russian has secured 21 championships at twenty-one distinct events.

"For the first time I am participating in a tournament with my both daughters simultaneously, so to get a championship is really nice," said tennis professional Daniil Medvedev.

"This victory is in dedication of my second daughter her name, because the initial championship I achieved when my child her name was delivered was for her."

The tennis star, the former major winner, had lost his previous six championship matches, comprising in Halle earlier this year.

Medvedev's counter-punching strategy and regular outbursts on the playing surface had caused observers to wonder if his capacity to compete at the highest level was concluded.

Yet the athlete has altered his approach in the last few weeks, making an effort to advance forward and perform positively, backed up by an enhanced service.

Medvedev recovered from a disadvantage in the initial set against the difficult Moutet, securing four of the concluding five games to take the lead.

The competitors swapped break points in the second set before the challenger, striving for his first tour victory, seized the initiative to create a decider.

The opponent defended 4 early-game break points in a close final set before the champion broke to fifteen to secure the win.

Fittingly, Medvedev secured victory with a shot at the net area, with the Frenchman incapable to handle a return after over two and a half hours.
