The one-time leader was sentenced of planning a military coup in the ninth month and handed more than over two decades in incarceration, but he continued under home detention pending legal challenges.

High Court Judge the presiding justice said the decision to arrest the elderly politician was a safety action after "new facts" came to light.

This encompassed seeking to disable his ankle monitor and a call for a demonstration that could enable a possible escape.
