Barcelona to Host Historic Game at Renovated Camp Nou this Saturday
Barça revealed their first game will take place at the renovated but unfinished Camp Nou this Saturday. Athletic Bilbao will visit the Basque side in La Liga two and a half years since relocating to allow renovations to start.
“We envisioned this comeback. The moment has arrived. Home again at Spotify Camp Nou.”
The stadium will not be at full capacity but 45,401 spectators are permitted inside as per the current authorization. When completed, the stadium’s capacity will reach close to 105,000 fans, up from the previous 99,000. Barça announced completed upgrades featured an updated entryway for the team and new dressing rooms.
Stadium Testing
Barça organized an open training session at the Camp Nou in early November. Officials stated they are seeking authorization by UEFA to play their next home Champions League game versus the German side next month at Camp Nou. Their recent games have been held in the temporary ground.
